Strange Dreams

I had the strangest dream! I don’t really know where to begin and how to tell it so that it will make sense, but I will try. Let’s start with the process. When I write, I create a character and a world with a problem. I then put the character in the world and watch them solve the problem, as if I’m watching a movie in my head. Most of the time, the characters do normal things, sometimes they go off the rails.

So last night, I was dreaming I was writing. I was asleep, dreaming, watching the movie in my head. Two of the characters in my head were on their way to a war. It’s a grave and trying time. In my dream, I was trying to figure out how I was going to get these two characters to the candy-making scene. … What candy-making scene you ask? I don’t really know. However, I was fairly certain there was a candy-making scene that involved a daemon-kin character making petit fours and then hiding them under the cushions of a sofa! … And no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t figure out how to get my erstwhile saviors, who were off to war, to the candy-making scene so that they could discover the secret hiding place of the petit fours.

Then I woke up. I got my coffee, I opened the document, I stared at the page …and then I scrolled down through my notes LOOKING FOR THE CANDY-MAKING SCENE!!
